This week I have finished my last panel for my January UFO. I can honestly say I would have never finished it if it had not been for this challange and the encouragement from other bloggers. I plan to have it completely finished by Wednesday so I can post a picture. Here is panel #3 ........
Off to clean my house so I can sew later. Sure wish I was rich , I would have a housekeeper and a cook and I would sew all day! "Sew long for now"

Stash report for week 5
This week I finished my UFO for January so I am finally able to count that fabric. I think I used 1 1/2 yards total in the project. I am doing the hand quilting on it today and will have it finished by Wednesday. I can't wait to show you the picture. We also finished hand quilting my quilt at the church so I can count the fabric for the backing. I hope to have the binding on it soon and will post pictures and the story of that quilt. Design wall for 1-23
I was able to get in my sewing room and sew over the weekend. I worked on some string blocks for the Orca quilt but they were too exciting. What is exciting is that I finished the second panel for my January UFO. I am doing hand applique, which is forcing me to slow down. I am doing ok with it and like the stitching but not the prep work on each piece. I had trouble with the pointed leaves this week so don't look closely! The photo above is of both panels together, the one on the left is this weeks. Today I need to clean my sewing room and then will start the 3rd panel. I hope to have the top completed by next week. Stash report for week 4
My stash report stays the same as it was last week. I have worked on some things, but have not finished so will not count it yet. I have an afternoon of sewing planned today. It is so windy here in West Texas that you sure don't want to do something outside. We are having winds of 30-35 with gusts up to 50mph. The air is full of dust..... so what is a girl supposed to do but sew! Here is my report

My Design Wall for 1-16
This is the first panel of 3 in my January UFO #5. It is hand applique, which I have never done before so it is going very slowly and is a challenge. I have the pieces ready to applique on panel #2 so maybe next week it will be on my design wall. I have also worked on my color challenge this week and finished step one of Bonnie Hunter's Orca mystery quilt. Today I am off to church to hand quilt then to Weight Watchers and if I am lucky I will have the afternoon to sew. "Sew" long for now.

Stash report for week 3
Well you can tell I am new to blogging. I wrote this blog early in the day and even posted it to Patchwork Times site but I never published the post, so.... my post was blank! Try again. I was busy this week but haven't finished anything to count on fabric out. I didn't buy any fabric this week but I did add 12 yards of fabric!! I went to my quilt club meeting Thursday night and a friend brought in a basket full of yarn and casually said I have a box of fabric in my car but don't know if anyone would be interested in it. What??? quilters not interested in looking at fabric... what was she thinking. She said there weren't any big pieces to do anything with. Well, she is talking to someone who is working on the Orca quilt on Bonnie Hunter's site, I love scraps. I ended up getting 7 yards from her box ! Some of them were 3 yard lengths, her idea of small pieces and mine are different! My Husband also cleaned out his closet this week and I cut some shirts up for the fabric. You get quite a bit of fabric from an XLTall shirt. Here is my report.

Design wall and projects for 2nd week in January
I am new at posting , in fact this it the first time I have posted my design wall and attempted to post pictures. I hope it works! I have several things that I worked on last week and can report on. Yesterday I mentioned an old quilt that I made in the 80's and am hand quilting at my church. The top picture is of that quilt. The second picture is of my January color challange on my design wall. I am not real sure I like what I did or not. I am debating taking it all apart and starting over. Maybe I could bring in more blue with borders of some kind, what do you think? I also worked on my Orca Bay quilt and cut up some old shirts for the fabric. Time to clean the sewing room now! "Sew" long for now.

Fabric Stash Report for week 2
I am already in the hole for the year :-( My name was up to have a quilt hand quilted in my church quilting group. I had a quilt that I had made in 1982 or 3 that was tied out. The quilt was made for my daughters first big girl bed and quilting was new to me. I had to take the quilt apart and take the tying out, at that point it became apparent why it was tied. Oh my gosh, it is so crocked and puffy!! My quilting mentors told me don't worry we can quilt it out. Any way, I decided to change the backing and had to get 3 yards of fabric. I won't count it as used until the quilt is finished and I show you pictures. I used 6 fat quarters to piece the top for my color challenge. Sew long for now.....
